History:
Is there really a Joe? Yes, there really
is a Joe! Anything Joe's(R)® began in Myrtle
Beach, SC in the spring of 1997 with a kiosk
at a local mall. But the idea of Anything Joe's
has much earlier roots. Founder Joe Bushardt
began personalizing items at craft shows at
the age of 13. With his family's help, he traveled
all over the Southeast doing weekend shows,
earning enough money to purchase his first car.
Joe went on to graduate from the University
of South Carolina with a degree in marketing.
Following college he worked as a loan officer
with a large regional bank. Joe kept up his
crafting all through college and after two years
in the banking world, decided to leave banking
behind. He put all of his energy into building
a business using the art skills he had developed
as a teen. As he began in Myrtle Beach, he was
joined by partner Clay Spivey who has no background
in art but had twenty years of management and
public relations and marketing experience in
the music industry. Together they have grown
Anything Joe's into a nationally known personalizing
business with two large retail locations, a
catalog and a web site.
The
Retail Stores:
Two
of our stores are located on South Carolina's
"Grand Strand!" One store is located
in the charming Barefoot Landing ( www.bflanding.com)
shopping complex which looks like a New England
fishing village surrounding a 10 acre lake.
Most of the 100 shops are actually on stilts
in the edge of the lake which is crossed by
floating bridges.
In
2004 a second location opened at a Myrtle Beach
attraction called Broadway at the Beach.( www.broadwayatthebeach.com
) This store is located on the bow of the Harbor
Queen, docked between the Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville
and Ripley's Aquarium. This In addition to the
personalized items you can order we have a store
full of toys, stuffed animals, dolls, kids books,
and room accessories. Store hours are 10 AM
to 11 PM in the summer months and 10 AM to 9
PM in the fall, 10 AM to 6 PM in the winter,
seven days a week.
In
2006 several new franchise stores have opened
around the southeast.
The
Website:
www.anythingjoes.com is an extension of Anything
Joe's® retail operation. Being in a tourist
location, many if not most of our customers
are from different points around the country.
The web site was started in 1999 to make it
easier for our out of town customers to order
from home. However web shoppers from around
the country have found the site and we now ship
items to all 50 states.
The
Catalog:
Our full color catalog features favorite items
from our stores and website. It is mailed once
a year in the fall to over 30,000 customers.

What
happens when I order?
The web and catalog orders are received in our
retail stores. All of the items you choose are
hand painted after we receive your order. We
do not use set patterns or stencils, but do
everything freehand. This gives us a lot more
freedom and flexibility when creating your gifts.
(This also means that your order will vary slightly
from the pattern you choose.)
Does
Joe still paint?
Yes, he does. And we now have eight artists
on staff painting alongside Joe. Some of them
have art degrees and some, like Joe, have just
painted all of their lives. These artists take
great pride in creating one of a kind gifts
for you. All of our artist's goals is to produce
the most unique personalized gifts yet get it
out in a timely fashion.

We strive to make each item ordered one that

We know it is difficult to shop online and know
exactly what you are going to get. If you have
been in our shop it is easier because you have
seen the products firsthand. If you've not had
